About Author Guidebook
My name is Shane, and I want to be the next J.K. Rowling.
I bet you do too. That or the next Stephen King, John Grisham, Nora Roberts, etc.
As aspiring authors, we all dream of having a large readership and becoming a household name. Yes, we love the words we write, and we long for that magical moment where we hold a copy of our book in-hand, or read that first five-star review, but selling millions of copies and topping the NYT bestseller list wouldn’t be so bad either, right?
But how do we get there?
For many of us, of course, the answer is: we don’t. I think if we’re honest with ourselves, we all know that. Still, I believe with all my heart that it’s very possible for anyone with a talent for story telling to achieve some success as an author. If I didn’t, I would not be wasting my time trying.
The key, in my opinion, is to find the strategy that works for you.
My personal strategy involves publishing a YA series with a small publishing house, self publishing another series or two, marketing all these books as effectively as possible, and building the Author Guidebook platform. Who knows, maybe all this will lead to that 100K dollar publishing contract with one of the big 5, and then international fame and glory.
Or maybe not.
Either way, I plan to give it my best, and have a lot of fun along the way.
What’s the right strategy for you?
I have no idea.
